Podcast Episode 40 part 1
Tonight we continue with our new format. We read Chance's email and we go through the week's news in the news dump. We will continue with the new format until we either get bored or decide to do something else. We did get a little feedback on the new format. It was mostly positive, so there you go.
In his abbreviated email Chance, has several things to say after we give him his weekly snarkectomy. He sides with us on the Wonder Woman/Ironman fight. He brings up some excellent Xbox games, Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. Both games have excellent stories and are quite enjoyable. He brings up that you can buy used copies of games for only a few dollars more than is being charged to rent them on the Playstation Now. He says that he is disappointed with Titanfall and says that paying a $1 to get kicked in the nuts is preferable to paying for Mech Assault Online. He also gets us back on the VR helmet discussion. Both Sony and Valve are working on VR helmets. With all the development, we still don't think that VR headsets are going to be mainstream for a while.
On the news dump tonight we talk about the controller for Amazon's theoretical console. We talked about the NSA spying on everyone. We talked about how Stalin would have endorsed the Xbone and then kept a PS4 at home. Nvideo stopping support of DirectX 10. The Xbone controller works on PC. The Last of Us won 5 baftas. Epic and Mozilla demo Unreal Engine 4 running in Firefox, rather exciting gaming news. Chinese gaming console in the works. 22 year old Chimp plays better than kindergartners, and more.
That is the podcast for tonight. Let us know what you think and tune in midway through next week to get part 2.

Podcast Episode 39 part 2
We continue with our new format on the podcast tonight. On the program we have the topics that are of interest to us, the hosts of the show. Plus, we have the next round in our Legendary Battle of the Legendary Legends.
Rhett starts us out with the Walking Dead. He has been both watching the show and reading the comics that the show is based on. He makes the observation that this is a zombie apocalypse scenario and is doomed to end badly as per the formula. In this type of scenario where civilization has ended due to the rise of zombies things really only have one way to go, down. Before anything can improve you have to find a way to exterminate every zombie and exterminate the method for zombie propagation. He also points out some of the divergences between the TV show and the source material.
Jason again brings up the topic of VR headsets. He found an article about a new VR headset being offered by Valve. It seems that everyone is jumping on the headset bandwagon these days. And while we would like to experience the new technology we are hesitant to jump on the bandwagon ourselves. Right now the headsets are expensive, require cutting-edge computers to run, and can only accommodate one user. Altogether, not points in their favor. Right now if you buy a VR headset you are buying a very expensive peripheral. If the price becomes more reasonable, then we might endorse them, but not yet.
In the next round of our epic battle royale we pit Ironman against Wonder Woman. Ironman is Tony Stark's superhero persona and is gifted with inventiveness, intelligence, money, increased strength, speed, repulsor blasts, flight, and other energy and projectile based weaponry. Wonder Woman is an Amazon warrior. She has super speed, super strength, durability, accelerated healing, superior combat skills, flight, magic sword, lasso, tiara, braclets. We pick our winner. Let us know who you picked.
